POSITION:            Baseball Coach

 

F.L.S.A.:                Exempt

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Be at least 18 years of age.

  • Competitive swimming and coaching experience preferred

  • Possess effective communication skills

  • Ability to work part-time and weekends (approximately 35 hours per week)

  • Ability to lift up to 40 lbs to shoulder height occasionally

  • CPR and first aid certified

  • Possess mobility to enter the pool

  • Teaching license or college degree preferred

  • Minimum of 60 college hours & advanced training & teaching of swimming

     

REPORTS TO:       Aquatic Center Administration

 

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:      Twelve month employment (261 days).  Salary and benefits to be established by the swim team Executive Board.

                                                   

POSITION OVERVIEW: The USA Swim Team is a community club that competes competitevly in regional swim competitions.  The district provides pool and facility space for the club and serves as a fiscal manager for payment of their warrents.  The district also serves as an agent in managing the employment requirements for swim coaches.  However, no USA club coaches are considered employees of the district.

                                                  

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  1. Comprehensive knowledge of the rules and fundamentals of swimming.

  2. Maintain an accurate inventory of school equipment.
  3. To model fundamental skills. 
  4. Develop and implement lesson plans
  5. To place a team on the field of competition.
  6. To screen student athletes for membership on a team. 
  7. Provide eligibility lists, rosters, and other paperwork as required by administration.
  8. To effectively recruit, condition, and train swimmers through camps and individual contacts.
  9. Attend swim meets as scheduled.

OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS

  1. Work collaboratively with other coaches & staff.

  2. Follow district & Aquatic Center policies, rules and regulations.

  3. Perform basic first aid on swimmers if needed & have current CPR training.

  4. Abide by Missouri Valley & United States Swimming rules & regulations.

  5. Follows the direction of the head coach and the aquatic directors.

  6. Maintain positive relations with students & parents.

  7. Model proper dress, language, demeanor and student/teacher relations.
